I got more 22's than you can shake a stick at. They are easy to handle, almost non-existant kick, can be used in a wide variety of situations, easy to carry lots of ammo and with my ruger 10/22 with the scope I can put 3 out of 3 in a 2" circle @ 100 yds." I've got a marlin model 60 and a ruger 10/22, the .22 LR is an awesome cartridge and I've shot one through a 4"x4" at an angle even, unfortunatly I don't have pics because that was a long time ago, but for its size the .22 is an impressive cartridge.

Here are 3 rounds from our Ruger 10/22 with a 3x7 scope at 35 yds.
I know it looks like 2 shots but trust me, it was 3. The circle on the target is 1/2 inch diameter.
