    Default Ruger 1911

I wanted to see if anyone has one of the Ruger 1911's. I've only saw one and that was over a yr ago. Seems like they are still not getting much production out.

If you have one I'd love to hear what you paid for it, your thoughts on it and if you think it's a good weapon and value. Also is it MilSpec?

CountryGuy: I have a Ruger P90 in 45ACP. I guess I have had it for 5 or 6 years. It is a great gun, and has been right out of the box. It shot straight without any adjustments. Balance is very good for me. I paid between $450.00 and $500.00. Recoil is moderate. No different than any other 45, and better than most.

I had a little difficulty disassembling it the first time. It does not come apart like a normal 1911. Once I learned it was not difficult. IMHO Ruger makes great guns. They wear like iron, and never break down. Very rugged, very relaible, very reasonably priced. I would buy another one in a heartbeat.

I don't know if it is MilSpec.

    Thanks to both you.

Morgan I actually mean their SR1911. I've got to be honest, I don't mean to hurt feelings and I know their guns are durable but... to me most of them seem to have a blocky design and tend to be heavy.

I will say I love their revolvers (gonna get me a GP one of these days) and I like some of their new new polymer lines in the SR series along with the LCR/ LCP etc.

Here's a pic of their 1911 that I was talking about.

Hammer, get out there and let'em fly so you can let me know. LOL

I've had and still own quite a few Ruger firearms. I've found their quality second to none, well built, and ready to shoot right out of the box. My Ruger P-89DC I've had for around 8 or 9 years has had thousands of rounds put through it and it still looks and fires as good as the day I bought it. I find their prices very reasonable I paid $400 for my P-89DC brand new. The next Ruger I'm buying is going to be the LC9 or LCP, very concealable, light and something that I can get the wife to shoot without listening to her whine about the weight and recoil.

CountryGuy: Like JLBIII I have several Rugers; semi-auto and revolvers (including the GP 100), and I have never been disappointed. I have put 1000's of rounds down range without any malfunctions.

I would expect the quality of the SR1911 to be just as high as all of their other products, and you would be very happy with what you bought.

    Good Luck!!
