    Buggy,
Thanks buddy. I go to the VA doc(pain clinic) this week and I'm going to ask him about these. Anything for some rest. Thanks again.

    Hey Dalewick,
Have you tried Valerian? When I came off a 72 hr. shift & was stressed out @ work for any reason, I'd pop 2 or 3 of those @ bedtime. I've also found that I can't eat anything heavy after 2100 hrs. @ night time, hard to sleep. Have had my share of injuries & surgeries, back, heart, feet, arm. Know about pain. Feel for you man......

I know exactly where you are coming from Dale. I used to have problems sleeping before my back surgeries, now I'm lucky if I get 2-3 hours a night. I can't get comfortable and the back pain keeps me wide awake, I've also tried every med., herbal, you name it I've tried it. I now take 1/2 a mg. of alprazolam about 1/2 an hour before I try to sleep, but it's hit or miss at best. A friend of mine smokes a little bit of cannibis before he goes to bed and said it works great for him, he's also had major back surgery.

If you find something that works please post it, at this point I'll try anything to get a good nights sleep or even 4-5 hours of un-interupted sleep.

I would like to thank everyone for you post. Started going to the VA pain clinic this week and now on Clonazepam 1mg and Gabapentin 10mg x 3 along with the rest of my meds. Got the first nights sleep last night that I've had in 5 years. Thanks again.
