Another offer?!? Please. It is just a ploy to get you to increase your offer. Stick to your guns, and do what is best for you. Good Luck. We will keep you in our prayers that all works out well.

California took all of our mineral rights decades ago. Tax record shows previous owner was paying tax on property worth about 125K. But that was before the crash. As far as right of way, it is accessed through a Department of Forestry maintained road.

Ijust have one question...how can you stand living in California,It is more socialistic then Canada. Inever knew that about mineral rights in Calif.

Got to ask. How did the commie leftist take control of everyones "private" mineral rights. I know you can sell the min. rights seperate, but I had never heard of a state being able to steal everyones private rights. How do mines operate under state ownership? Brother, you seriously need to try and relocate out of the commie Cali. I feel for you bro.

I have always said I can't wait to retire so I can move "back to the United States." The problem i have is my wife and I each have girls that want to stay here. We have a choice, move to the USA, or see our grand kids grow up. It is a tough choice, but the future grand kids are winning.

Thanks for all that offered encourgement, but I think I have been out done by the lawyers. The other bid came straight to the probate attorney, It was higher than my offer so it was the only bid presented to the judge. After this was done, the price was re-negotiated and the property closed last Friday. I missed out on this one, but I haven't given up. I have cashed out the IRA and paid the taxes and penalities so I could get it done before taxes go up next year. Now I am setting on a large bank roll and looking for the "right" piece of land with no crooked attorneys involved.

Do you know what you call 10,000 attorneys at the bottom of the ocean?

    A GOOD START.

Since the election is past I have told everyone to buy what they need in major items now because you may not be able to do so come March 2013.

Major items include land, cabins, weapons & ammo, trucks, construction equipment, etc....
