Default "POSSUM LIVING" by Dolly Freed

"How to Live Well Without a Job and (almost) No Money"

I just finished reading this little book. Its only 218 pages, so it goes fast.

Written back in the 70's by a (then) 18 year old girl, Dolly Freed, who at the time was living with her eccentric father "on the cheap" near Philadelphia.

Each chapter covers a new subject on how to get by as cheap as you can while still living a comfortable life. Such subjects as "income", "gardening", "preserving food", and (my favorite) "The necessities of life" - distilling and winemaking.

While dated, good information can still be had with this book. I got a copy from a local Barnes & Nobel. Price $15. It will go into my reference collection.

I could have gotten a copy for my 'nook' for cheap, so NA, NA, NA, NA, NAAAAA, NAAAAA! I wanted a hard copy to go on the shelf.

Regarding the wine, I was thinking of the possible need to barter that may be in our future. I would have to test taste the product, of course, to ensure its fit to drink!

My wife picked up that book for me and told me that i owed her $15. Ummmmm.

If you were keeping it for barter or post SHTF, I would think the red would be a better choice also. serves better without refrigerating. Of course if it is a flavor thing for you, then it does not really mater. Remember, Store what you eat (drink) and eat (drink) what you store.
