Default Any ham in Virginia like to check out 2 meter radio comms?

Hams in eastern W.Va. or northern N.C. or in the Central/western portion of Va. like to try communicating on 2 meters for the fun of it?

I'm located in the south/central part of the state and can dependably hit repeaters located in Lexington, 147.33, in the west and Buckingham C.H. in the east.

Maybe we could pick a few repeaters in a list communicated here and a schedule to try it. I'll post what repeaters I can hit. Ya'll interested do the same, and we will organize a list and give it a try!

I like Virginia ham! I prefer sugar-cured, but baked is good, too!

Being that I am now a "man of leisure", my schedule is flexible. Can you hit the 147.33 repeater in Lexington?

Not sure, don't remember trying that one. I have hit as far south as Warrenton but haven't tried anything SE of here. We have 2 repeaters here on the WAN link if you have one your way. I'll put the antenna back up on the pole this week. CB has been a bust this season ao might give it a rest in the cabinet!

I'll grab my map and repeater listing later today and see which ones I can hit up towards you.

The 147.33 (I think it has a tone - 136.8 maybe?) is at a nice elevation and covers a lot of the state.

I'll let you know what I discover.

I've been getting repeaters east of me a good ways... even as far east as Wakefield, which is near Applejack.

Well, I can't seem to be able to 'ping' the Warrenton repeater. I tried several others up towards northern Va., but "no joy". I do well towards the south and east. It must be because its all up hill towards you, Defcon! ;-)

I should be able to do some repeater testing next week. I'll keep you all posted.
