    Applejack,

Thats just the purchasing process we now have to contend with. Everything jezcruzen said is right on the money and you don't have to legally keep the information of who you sold the gun to. Remember everything youv'e read about caches and hiding places, just in case.

I know that not all states are not the same. In California, new hand guns had been registered with the state DOJ for several years. Any used handgun which was transferred after 1990 was supposed to go through an FFL and also be registered. They are changing the laws to match for long guns also.

    Countrygirl74561,

To my knowledge OK laws are the same and were not living under the liberal curse that wac220 has to in CA. Here is a quick rundown of OK law on purchase/transfer:

    Purchase/Transfer
No state permit is required for the purchase of a rifle, shotgun or handgun.
Residents may purchase legal firearms and ammunition from contiguous states, and residents of contiguous states may purchase firearms and ammunition in Oklahoma.

It is unlawful to sell or give any firearm to any person under 18 years of age, except a rifle or shotgun given by a parent to a child for education, hunting, or sport.

It is unlawful for any parent or guardian to permit his or her child to possess any firearm if aware of a substantial risk that the child will use the weapon in a crime or if the child has been adjudicated a delinquent or convicted as an adult of any criminal offense.

It is unlawful for any person to knowingly furnish any firearm to any person who is a felon, a delinquent, under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or is mentally or emotionally unbalanced or disturbed.

I am a firm believer in this statement. Most of my hand guns were purchased private party before the registration law went into effect. The long guns I have are all preregistration. But once the guys in the blue uniforms knock down the door take the registered ones they will find the rest. In this screwed up state it is even illegal to bury a gun or ammunition to try to hide if from LEO.

There was a book advertised touted to be a manuel for hiding firearms. I imagine many criminals and police have taken advantage and read that book!

wac220, think about that old saying, "Never keep all your eggs in one basket". Dispersion of supplies and resources is a solid strategy. How you achieve it should be kept to yourself, however, for obvious reasons.

I'm glad to see the responses here. I would like to put this out for what it's worth.
    1. When possible never cache weapons & supplies on your own property.

    2. When possible place caches on public property in remote locations.

    3. Never mark cache sites on maps, use coded acetate overlays kept seperately from the maps or coded GPS coordinates.

    4. Always break your supplies down into small caches, that way if one or two are discovered, you still have weapons and supplies to fall back on.

To learn more on this subject some good references are the army FM's on gurella warfare and the special forces FM on Caching.

Remember, Buried or sunk and covered and concealed. Good camo, can save you ammo.

But Buggy, you know this is all just theory and academics. I'm sure everyone here should know that.
