I've seen that before but good point on Switzerland. A friend in college was from Denmark and was also a vet. Though they're fairly socialist on many things I was surprised that they have mandatory service of 2 yrs but that then after your active duty your to maintain your gear along with weapon and ammo as part of what amounts to a national militia. I don't think they call it a militia but that is basically what it is. They'd be called up by the king if needed. Not sure what level of the population in general have guns though.
As for the earlier comments about the constitution and about we've never given up rights, it doesn't matter in the least to this corrupt administration. These folks have run around the Constitution and Congress at every turn. 'Ol big ears thinks that executive orders are his own kingly proclamation of law and that he knows best and can decide.
Then this garbage that he and the State Dept is trying to pull with signing this UN weapons treaty. I keep reading other places where people are saying "oh that just means a person can't own a tank or a bazooka or nuke. They aren't trying to take your guns." The parts I've read and the analysis I've read, it's very thin on what is and isn't covered or stated. I'm sure the vagueness is on purpose.
I'll never listen or obey anything the UN has to say or orders they try to give. The could stupidly try to send occupation troops to take our weapons but it would cost them dearly. Molon Labe! If we ever get a gov't back that's worth a dang, they'd throw those blue beret wearing UN ninnies out of this country and pull out of all their crap. Same for the IMF. Heck were the only ones funding the majority of it so an international group can redistribute our tax money around the world.
What scares me more is our own military. there is such a large portion that is now made up of foreign nationals. Loads of Mexicans and others from central America, the Philippines, puerto rico, and others. You don't need to be a citizen to serve, which was always a scary thought to me. These folks are going to be more inclined to follow whatever orders they're given without hesitation. and the younger generations in general are so uneducated, especially about the Constitution and our laws, they wouldn't know an illegal order if it slapped them in the face. So how could they ever be expected to disobey one. Like that kid in the video I posted who was in the NG and part of the teams that disarmed law abiding citizens in New Orleans after Katrina. Many say as a practice run to see if they could get away with it. Sadly they did with little to no outrage.
