    Question 300 blk ????

Does anyone have any experience with the 300 BLK round in any of the grains (125 -220)? I know commercial ammo is still high but I'm considering getting a barrel and reloading dies if the round is as good as it appears on paper. Most of my deer hunting is in the 350 yards or less range.

Hummer and the rest of you gun guys, would really like to hear what everyone has to say. Thanks ahead of time.

    Dale -

Way out of my interest. I believe in common calibers for the common man. I didn't jump on 10MM either.

I'm with Buggy, I stick to popular calibers. Ammo is cheaper and easier to find.

Thanks for the replies fellows. This one is more for current hunting use and after some recent checking, ammo has come down considerably since it was approved by SAAMI. What I'm unsure about is how this round will perform, it's energy level is comparable only with a 30-30, but it's recoil is comparable with a 5.56mm which would be great for say someone with a neck injury (me). 7.62 Nato causes a bit of pain anymore. And with this I have the option of only purchasing a upper or just a barrel to swap out. Plus the 220 grain is subsonic, which is great for a suppressor. These are my primaries.

    Thanks again,
