    Default Whey Protein for Storage?

Wally world has a 2lb jar of Whey Protein for muscle building for $18.95 Each serving (scoop included) has 160 calories and 30 grams protein plus 90 mg calcium. Sodium, sugars and fat is low.

I bought one because protein is the hardest thing for me to store. Yes beans and rice work, taste good, but you have to eat 3 cups of beans and 3 cups of rice to get 40 grams complete protein, the same you get in 6 oz of meat.

Has anyone else thought that this might be a way to add protein to our food storage? Exp date is June, 2014, but left sealed it could last a bit longer. Any suggestions as to other protein sources?

I am doing the same thing. I went to sam's club and bought naturade total soy meal replacemnt because it states non GMO soy. This one has only 13 grams of protein. 24 vits. and minerals. and has 47 servings. I also have a couple of the whey ones from Walmart. these are somthing I have always used anyway because with hypothyroid the extra protein helps. Although I am not supose to be using soy with hypothyroid, my husband can use it and this one is better for him with all of his problems. Also if you are diabetic there is one called Almased that is good for those people. it is more expensive, and has 25 grams of protein but for a diabetic it has an extrmely low glycemic load and will not raise sugar levels. you can get this one on line or through the GNC stores. this one is also non GMO.

Seems like a good idea. This is a powder, right, so it can be added to any other food as a supplement? I don't think it would hurt anything.

That is a very good idea; it is just hard for me to think about needing extra protein right now, right now I know I am eating too much...

Go on line to to walmart and order these that way. I got 2lb jars at 3 for 39.00 that is 13.00 per jar. much better price than buying in the store. I order 6 of them and put them up for later. At 18.95 you would pay $56.85 for 3 of them. that is a savings of 16.90. You will have to pay sales tax but shipping was free.
