I am blessed financially. I could afford one of these armored vehicles. The upkeep would be a full time job. (Spent some time in an Armored Cav unit) However....... Rich, if you let me into your group, we could talk about getting some tanks! lol

For now...Eye candy! notice my hand and a Russian hatch? I know I couldn't fit into that! Haha!

I plan on staying put, but will leave if I have to. But, I will put my faith in God to help protect me because I feel this is our only hope. With God all things are possible, Without him we stand alone. I know for a fact that everyone that is truly saved will not go throgh the tribulation. We (the church) will be raptured before the tribulation begins. But, the Bible does say we will go through trials and tribulations before the rapture happens and we must be prepared for this. We will see wars, rummers of wars, famines and if you take a good look at our weather and what is happening to crops all over the united states, water levels of rivers down as much as 15 feet to to drought conditions causing a shortage of food and higher prices at the stores. We must prepare for the colaspe of this country as God has turned his back not on his church but on what our government has done. prayer removed from public schools, crime rate is up so high, you can't even turn on the news without hearing that someone was robbed, murdered or raped. It happens everyday. And how many babies has this country killed throgh abortion, (to many to count). And now gay marrage and the teaching of this in public schools that it is ok to be gay. God created Adam and Eve NOT Adam and Steve. They give condoms to our kids and basicly tell them to go have a good time. So what do we have now, instead of kids waiting till marrage to ingage in sex, they have casual sex when and with whoever they please and don't care about right and wrong. So we have babies born out of wedlock and being raised on the street without a decent home or a father. What does this tell you about being prepared. GOD has turned his back on us and unless this country repents of it's sins as a whole (government) and indivual. this country is going to colaspe just as rome did. Not by the wars like we had with world wars 1 and 2 but from within, through corruption and contemp of God. We all should be on our knees praying for this country and for a president that will turn this country around. But, with the choices we have now I am afraid it is to late. But, we should still pray for the protection around ourselves and our families. I have been preparing the best I can for what is to come, because I do beleive both a colaspe and famine is going to come upon this country. I know some of you out there may not beleive this, and I will pray for all of you rather you beleive or not. But I speak this from my heart as I know what the Bible says about all of this. Please, if you do not know God, I just ask that you read the Bible and come to know him because if you really want to survive the mess that is coming you will need him on your side.

I have to say I am 100% with you on this post. I believe as you do God
must be part of anything or anyone and if not it or they will fall.

I would call these two groups the thinkers and the do-ers.
I think it would be neat to see a poll (if it was accurate and honest) of how many folks are actually going into the woods and practicing these things we discuss.
I think on MOST topics I am a "do-er", but there are a few things I have not made time for yet, and that scares me, because if you are not actively doing it now when you have electricity, a safe place to sleep etc, then you probably won't be able to do it under stress, hungry, scared and desperate.
For example, my solar stove I built. It works ok. just ok, and this is Florida in the summer. I hope to try making a parabolic lense with water to shoot a focused beam into the oven, but I just haven't made the time.

Not trying to steal the thread, but this is another way to "divide" preppers into groups.
I guess im in the thinker group as i do not go out and camp a lot although i do camp some. i grew up hunting,
fishing, and trapping animals. I have always fished and hunted my brother and I in the last couple years have put a dozen deer in the freezer and we did not send them to
a processor we did it our self. I still build the traps for birds and rabbits i grew up using. there is probably not many birds i have not tasted. flesh eating birds would be the only group I have not tasted. anything I buy for prepping I test it more than once to make sure it works and I can work it properly. although I use rod and reel
i think a fish net will be good to have so a person can gather several fish quickly and get out of site; bending the rules will have to be done at some point. A quail trap can catch a whole covey at one time. the rabbit traps I build catches them live. when we grew up we would check and bring in the rabbits to a pen and kill them after school. same with the birds we trapped. guns and ammo is taken care of already, no tanks or grenades but several rifles and pistols with plenty ammo for each. So i may not be as much a doer as some but I can get it done I have no stress or fear on that part. being low on money i am still in process of making my place ready hopefully it will be complete before shtf. If not i have tents for temp
living also My brothers and I built a TP when I was around
13 and used it about 4 years for camping and it was dry all that time, we only took one iron skillet, small coffee pot, lard, coffee and a bag of potato every thing else we killed there and we could stay days we could still eat even after running out of what we brought by trapping ad eating only meat. I went to see if it was still standing after I got out of the AF and it was still up and together so I may not be as smart or have as much money to prepare but I will be out there when it happens.

Cracker sounds like you have plenty of tried and proven skills and that was what I was getting at. I wish i could trap and snare.

    Cracker,

Or anybody else prepping, in a SHTF scenario when meat would be at a premium, taking it in the form of deer or wild hogs would satisify a need. It's actually very easy to snare deer (highly illegle now) and a dozen of these snares can be had for $24.00.

with deer these can often be reused. This size can also be used on black bear, cougars and wolves. The good thing about snares, there hunting when your not.

IMHO it doesn't really matter which group your in when it all falls apart. If we have a nation wide "incident" if there is any type of authority left they'll have more pressing issues than going door to door to see if you have any supplies. Especially when your talking MILLIONS of people/ homes. As far as invaders if they can't find anything they can;t take it.
