As a retired medical assistant, I have all the above and then some. Just remember anytime 911 is called for something like this you need to tell them there are life threating injuries or they will just send out a code 1 or 2. They also need an exact location in order to get there sooner. But to tell you the truth, When my husband was having a heart attack, I took his blood pressure and it was very low, gave him asprin and rushed him to the hospital myself. I got him to the hospital in less than 10 minutes when it would normally take about 20 to 25 minutes going the speed limit. No cops around ( go figure) At that time the resqu squad was behind my husband's cousin's market and he asked them how long it would take to get to our house from the first call. he said that by the time the dispacher got the info and sent it to them it would have taken 30 minutes. I had him at the hospital in 10 minutes. (go figure) and yes with a heart attack I was taking chances and the ride was scarier than the heart attack according to hubby, but think goodness he is still with me and was gotten to the hospital just in time. he was stablized at the first hospital and put in amulance and carried to norfolk where he underwent open heart surgery for 6 way bypass and he had just passed a stress test with flying colors so I don't trust those test. This all happened in 1999 and I would do it again depending on the situation.
