Default Reral Time Disaster: Tropical Storm Debby

If you have watched the weather channel over the last 48 hours you have seen the reporters talking from Middleburg Fl. That is where I live. We have 14 inches in the last 12 hours most last night. I currently have a river in my front yard.

The only thing that can get through it is my M35 X-Military 6x6 truck and small boats. Bought the truck off E-Bay 2 years ago. I had to drive the Sheriff around last night picking up people from their homes. This was a flash flood. The local river called Black Creek is 32 feet above flood stage right now a new record. We are expecting rain again tomorrow then it will be over.

Out of 4 named tropical storms/hurricanes this year we have been hit head on by two of them! Never happened before in recorded history - which in this area goes back to 1515 by the Spanish who built a fort and village on the local coast.

Had to use some of my preps last night including first aid, emergency blankets, lanterns, flash lights, sand bags, etc.

PS: The Sheriff is going to get 4 M-35's as soon as he can order them through the Feds.

God Bless yah Rich. Good job helping the Sheriff. I have said, I would be expected to make an appearance at the local EOC if things went sideways here.

I bet you turn him into a prepper too before it's over.

My great 1 acre garden is gone... all of the vegs were within 3 weeks of being picked including corn for the first time. It is sitting under water and looks like it will for a couple of days.

Who looks crazy now?!? RichFL good luck with everything. I'm sure you will fare better than most. Here is an honest to goodness, up close and personal, real life story of why we prep. You are in our prayers.

Please relate the aftermath, if you don't mind, so we can all learn. What worked? What didn't? What you did that you were thankful for? What you wish you had done? I know it has to be painful.

Well today was a great day it was sunny out all day. BUT I spent most of it in the Emergency Room. I fell and landed on concrete and broke 3 ribs on my left side. I'm out of action for 6 weeks!!!! What a week this has been!!!
