Default Another Reason Massive Change is Coming

"Our national economy is "all in" on the suburban experiment. We cannot sustain the trajectory we are on, but we've gone too far down the path to turn back. None of our dominant political ideologies can solve this problem. In fact, there is no solution."

The Growth Ponzi Scheme of Cities

If all Federal and State grants were withdrawn from local budgets the average $100,000 home's property taxes would immediately need to increase $1,000.
If it was man made it can be man re-made.

We just can't catch a break if taxes go up that much. We already pay 2400.00 a year in relestate taxes now. this would be stupid. what are retired people suppose to do? Everytime you think you are getting ahead of the game something like this might happen. Still haven't decided if it's worth voting. either way we are screwed

I thank the Lord I have a free pass on most personal and property taxes. I also thank him that I have a duel income coming in. I don't know how some of you do it with just one. Things are rough....

I will trade you tax bills any day. In Kalifornia for an average house in Sacramento area I am paying about $3600. Then add in high Sales and Income tax and we about the highest in the country. I do make a good income and plan to take my inflated pension to a more affordable state after retirement.

As far as voting I feel it is more important who gets on appointed to SCOTUS than which of the liers in chief is in office at any given time. You are right, we are screwed.

Applejack I think we all share your frustration, but please don't even think about not voting. That is how we got into this mess in the first place. There are philosophical differences between the parties although admittedly it is hard to see them sometimes. Sadly, I think history will show that the party that is the best organized is the party that wins. That happened when the Nazis took over Germany. It looks like it is happening now with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.

I don't know who said it originally but the only thing necessary for evil to succeed is for good people to do nothing. Not voting is allowing this Liberal, Socialist agenda to win.

Have to agree with Morgan. We must vote this Socialist party out of office. Several conservatives I know fell for the "Change BS" last time. I don't know any who will vote for them again. With that said, I don't think any party will stop the eventual collapse, but the conservatives may slow it down.
