Default Private contractors coming to a town near you?

I happened upon an acquaintance of mine yesterday that I had not seen for a while. We once worked together. He left to go to work for Blackwater some time ago and has spent time with them and similar "contractors" in Afghanistan. He had been back for two months, he said.

Because of rumors I had heard, I asked if he knew of any usage of people of his profession - mercs, basically - here in the US. He said "yes". He said that various "security companies" had been working around the country with local LEOs, Feds, and the military in order to streamline operation command and control issues, communications, and organization.

He went on to tell me that he and others had been required to attend recent training in responding to civil unrest in this country. He also said that quite a number of Canadian military had cycled through the training as well, and that talk among this group indicated that should civil unrest occur here in the US, elements of the Canadian military would be used selectively to help quell it. There was concern about using US military against their own citizens, it appears. The notion is that foreign troops and "private contractors" wouldn't have the same hesitation.

Sure made my morning! Thats a lot to think about.

Any government that would allow foreign troops to enter this country to "HELP CONTROL" its citizens is enough to make all our fore-fathers roll over in their graves. It is so far left of the wording in the Constitution - I do not know where to begin. It's has to be a bad dream or that guy was pulling your leg.

No way would the Government be caught spending money for such training. The government would not last the scandal that it would cause, just think of the TV news and how they would react. They would group together when their freedom of speech is threatened. (It's what pays their bills). They would act like a pack of wild dogs.

Problem is the media is working hand-in-hand with the government and they probably wouldn't report it. To keep them in line, all the other pieces would be in place before the government hit them with censorship, gag orders or a downright takeover. Many of the "empires" of the past have brought in foreign troops when things got bad which, almost always, made things worse. History tends to repeat itself for those who forget or refuse to learn by it.
Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Same old garbage BS people drumming up fiction in their minds. Fed & Local Gov's have been using contractors for a VERY long time. They use them mainly udirng natural disasters to protect important buildings, i.e generator stations, fuel depots, tel annexed, etc. Very common.. Rarely does a state or city have the man power to protect everything for jackass pillagers

Contractors have been around a long time....90+ % of them do technical stuff.....only a few percent do any armed ( gun fighting ) work.....the media tells a different story than what actually happens ( go figure )
The one's who do armed escort duty and body guard duties are rarely in any true combat zone....the people they protect rarely want to be near a true combat zone.....( go figure ) asset protection is what most do and 99% of the time it is boring but, highly paid....
