    Default questions about jerky

    Hi ya'll
im on my phone. Thats bout the only way i can get on the site for right now. So can't go through the whole site so i apologize in advance if this topic has already been asked. Tried to look for it to see if any body has talked about before but haven't seen nothing on the exact topic. And also apologize if this is in the wrong category. New to the so wasnt for sure were i should put this post. But any ways my question is about jerky. Wat is your opinions on it? i want to buy a jerky maker from walmart which is only like $60. You think UT would be a good idea or would i just be wasting my time. My thinking is that its small, light wieght, an easy accessible snack, you could eat it on the go and carry alot wit you. But the biggest question i got about it is if anybody knows how long it would be good for. My dad has one of those sealing bag things, lol, and hes got the big bags but u can basicly lay the jerky out flat then seal the bag and the space you have in between the jerky strips if you press down on that part it will be like individualy wrapped pieces so you wouldnt have to keep opening a bag to gey one out. jus rip and go and it still keeps the others fresh. lol sorry kinda rambling but trying to put in as much detail as i can that way somebody can point out any flaws. But anyways like i said. if made right does any body know how long jerky is good for? And is it a good idea or would i be wasting my time. Also too is it good for you to eat alot of it. like if shtf and that was all i was able to grab would it affect me or harm me or jus anything negative like that? I know wen i eat a few pieces in pretty full Also thought how bad does it does it dehydrate you? so wat you think? Any feed back would be greatly appricated. Jus dont wanna be wasting my money or my time wen both could be put to better use. thanks in advance. God bless and good luck.

You should just get a dehydrator, you can make multiple snacks out of fruits and al kinds of food, possibly even jerky, havn't tried jerkey b/c I don't like the flavor of it but a dehydrator is perfect for camping. If you dehydrate the food it lasts longer so you don't have to eat it fast. You also don't need to refrigerate it which makes it good to stockpile or put in a B.O.B. Hope this helped!
