    Default deer ticks

If you don't already know it, deer ticks are really at a high level here in north east Pa. Got one on my leg 2 weeks ago. They are everywhere. Check yourself real good after every excursion and don't let them stay on you for 24 hours! Tick removal tools are avail at some pharmacys and online. Get one! A check with your family doctor is a good idea as he may perscribe antibiotcs. Spray well with Deet based outdoor sprays and check yourself well, Lyme disease is a lifetime deal, you don't want it. Regards, GH.

My boy and I scouted our new 4 acres in MO this morning and both of us had ticks on us when we got back. To help keep them off, besides the deet, get a couple of the flea and tick collars from the pet section of the store and wear one on each ankle. Just be sure to wear it outside your boot tops or over socks, don't wear against the skin. To get them off, before they burrow in, I use a piece of duct tape. You might lose a couple of hairs but it beats lyme disease.
Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

When I'm out in my woods, I usually get a dog tick, not a deer tick, but there are tons of deer, so I'm sure they're out there.

We have a tick invasion here in W.V. Try putting flea and tick collars around your boots. Blousing your pants in your boots. These things will help, but walking through weeds they will still jump on you.

Pink, I can't be 100% certain but I'm about 99% sure they are one in the same. While there are a variety of ticks http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tick regionally I'm thinking a tick is a tick is a tick .... but I could be wrong.

When I go camping, we sprinkle garlic around the tents and around the site. We also eat a lot of garlic and ticks don't like me or my wife. One time camping with the family and in-laws for a week, wife and me didn't get any ticks on us. But our son-in-law got 31 on him and ended up getting sick and passing out, had to go to the hospital for 24hrs the other got some. We always use granulated or powered garlic around camp. We rub some powder on pant legs. Works for us. I grow and harvest and dry, freeze and can garlic.
