I had one a few years ago, I think it ended up in a garage sale...Anyway, it did work and was made to be very durable, it just seemed awkward to fish with. I made up pocket kits (line, hooks, sinkers, bobbers) that I carry in my daypack and BOB. I also have a pack rod from Shakespear for longer excursions and maybe my BOB, along with a few of those auto reels. A rod and reel can make things easier in some circumstances but, even now, I would rather just use a cane pole.
Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

I carry some line, hooks, and sinkers. Can easily tie it to a stick as an ad hoc fishing pole.

I like this kind of thing instead...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6SpsHSLnlQ Google "Pathfinder fishing kit" and you'll see lots of variations/ideas

I also plan on getting some of these...http://www.speedhook.com/servlet/StoreFront ...since I too am fishing challenged.

If it's the same unit as years ago; I think you would be better served just carrying different line, sinkers, hooks, netting, etc. It seemed a bit bulky, Ok for a weekend or so. Just not for a BOB.

All you need is a cane pole line and fishing tackle, and you can catch fish up 25 pounds with it. I did it up in the High Sierras Mts. above 8500 feet to the sea shore fresh and salt, it will catch fish. All you need for a pole is a 6-8 foot long stick.
