Default I am throwing around the idea of hiking the Appalachian Trail. ALL of it!

I have the time! I have the $$$. I am fit. What could go wrong? Ha ha....

Actually, the person that inspired me the most was a little grandma:

I have always wanted to through-hike the AT!

    WHOS WITH ME?????????

Buggy, this is like one of the top things on my bucket list. But SIGH, I still work for a living. But if you do then please please please take pics and blog the whole thing. I can guarantee at least 1 devoted reader.

I think they've already openned the trail. Most people run it from south to north. Guy I know who did it, conditioned for months prior to starting it; definitely hard core. If you run it, good luck and congrats for the initiative.

We used to hike the Bruce Peninsula in Canada when I was a kid. Well twice with the Boy Scouts, good times.

There is no way I could hike the AT, not enough time, not enough money, too much fat.

For an old retired F.F. former Army, I could probably hike it, but don't have the time or money. Have a son who is going thru a rough time right now with cancer, & he needs me as much as I need him. We were there back in April of 2010 @ Roan Mtn. & hiked about 4 miles in to the Stan Murray shelter. Wouldv'e gone further except for his energy level. Good luck on the A.T.!

I have done it once, and I have a friend from Fl that is about 1/3 done right now. This will be his third time hiking the entire trail. Great times if you love backpacking!

    I do LOVE backpacking/Hiking!

I just found out that I missed the South too North season. North too South is at the end of June. I'll have to re-plan my pack, make it lighter. That Grandma hiked it without a freaking bag and just seven items. WOW.

    I'll keep ya'll posted!
