    Question Taking BOB Fishing


    I've noticed a lot of people mention fishing kits in their BOBs. I've also been looking around youtube a bit lately and see the same trend. Most of what I see is people carrying fishing line in some sort of container with a few supplies. What I am curious about is if anyone has thought about or tried using an ice fishing rod. They are small, carry more line, add minimal weight (the reel) and I'm sure there are other uses for the rod.

    Any thoughts?

    I have 2 in my bob. I'm originally from Northern Michigan, moved to the Kansas city area and didn't have a use for them. Then saw a show on PBS with a guy that carried one all the time.

    I have a pack rod that I'm throwing in along with a small reel its fairly small and light and gives you better odds on bigger fish, than no rod at all.
