I am glad I watched but I will never watch it again. If you have any fantasys of Mad Max and being a badass road warrior in the apocolyptic SHTF world this movie will set you straight. The whole time I watched it I kept thinking about my little girl and having to go through that with her.
Besides, that kid in the movie was a little whiny baby and I wanted to slap him every time he opened his mouth. LOL

If you want to take the intensity level a notch higher.....read the book. there were several scenarios they encountered that the movie just left out...Too Intense. That movie will leave you wiped out. He was a dumbass to leave the bumker though......IMHO. Watch it.....it's the most realistic movie you'll watch.

I seriously question the environmental conclusions of the movie. The Earth has an amazing capacity for recovery. I remember in the 70's we were told it would take decades for lakes and rivers to clean up after the clean air and water bills were passed. And the area around Mt. St. Hellens would be a moonscape for decades. Hell, even the countryside around Chernobyl is flourishing.

    Anyway, that's my two cents.
If it was man made it can be man re-made.

I read the book first, which made things in the movie make a bit more sense, including leaving the bunker. I'd say the movie did a really good job sticking to the book, as much as possible in the confines of a 2 +/- hour movie. Depressing though, both of them.

Yes. Everyone should see it. It will provide some inspiration for prepping and examples of how inhuman humans can be.
