I own 2 SOG powerlocks and 2 Waves (regular and black oxide of both), and have tried a few Gerbers. SOGs pliers are better than the others, but if you are looking to use the other tools frequntly go withe the Leatherman Wave or Charge. Never by Gerber.

I have 3 leathermans, and have never had any problems with them. I even have one of the first model leatherman they made complete with the box it came in. My EDC is a leatherman wave, I've had it for years and have never had a problem with any of the blades or tools breaking. It has helped fixed many stranded bikers on the side of the road (I always stop if I see a biker on the side of the road to make sure they're all set). Even if I'm in a three piece suit my leatherman is always with me. Though I'm sure the SOG is a quality tool as well.
