Most people don't want to hear this, but I firmly believe it to be true! This site seems to be a top notch pick for getting edumacated on what to do. Unfortunately, being new to this site, I haven't been able to find many posts (yet) for one of the most crucial pieces of our survival edumacation: checklists. Being a retired zoomie (air force), we see the importance of doing everything "by the book" depending quite heavily on checklists for every op. I thought I'd name a few checklists I've been working on, and hope some of you veterans to this site could post some links to where I can find the best info on this ...

    1) Best Bug-Out Destinations - Maps by disaster type of which regions of the US are most and least prone to that type of disaster.
    2) Quick-Go Bag - checklist of the MOST important things to take if you MUST exit the area IMMEDIATELY. Packable in a a fanny pack or small satchel.
    3) 3 Day GOOD Bag - (Get Out Of Dodge) checklist of the MOST important things to take if you must survive away from areas of civilization for 3 days to a week. Packable in a medium backpack.
    4) LT GO Bag - (Long Term Gear Out) checklist of the MOST important things to take if you must survive away from areas of civilization for an extended period.
    5) SSRats - checklist of essential things to stock up a Survival Shelter (Bunker Rations). Should include camping, self defense, and food and water supplies (see #6) PER PERSON to survive comfortably for up to a year.
    6) List of types and quantities of nonperishable foods to stock up in a survival shelter.
    7) List of other survival tips that would help in a disaster scenario.

I'm sure others have been already been working on this. I have also been working on these and would like to post what I have so far If y'all would tell me the appropriate topics to post them under.

Welcome jer1951 from N.W. Washington by way of Tucson. This place can become habit forming.

gaLadHon - there are EDC and GoBag type forums a-plenty. It's kind of a hobby and challenge to see who puts together what and modularizes well for quick changes from the Murse to a good bag..

    I really like this one
. It may not be a new thought but I want to look back for what others have had to say on this topic. Maybe someone can offer a link to a Survival forum or internet site where this is discussed. Of course there are the assumptions of what sort of calamity precipitates a sudden responsive movement and where Homeland Security is staging it's misfits and ammo.
