Check out landandfarm.com. They have a ton of listings, and many of them are in East TN. You can even set your search parameters to price, amount of land, what type (dairy, orchard, equine) and area. They have tons of good deals, some not-so-good deals, and it's just worth checking out. I hop on there at least once a week. If you're rich theres a dream property on there.....1,000+ acres, multiple houses, horse trails, barns, camper hookups, backs up to a state park.....and for only 15million....lol!!!!!!

Hello...Couple of quick thoughts...When looking for land, DO NOT mention to agent or agency that you plan for this to be a safe haven for your family or else they will know you are opening a supermarket for them...DO NOT bring anyone there that you do not plan on sheltering as they will show up with friends and family looking for shelter....Build a place without permits if you can, or move in a trailer...Get a place near like-minded people that will not need what you have and can help protect each other...Buy supplies some distance from your place...Use an older vehicle to pick up supplies so people won't think you are affluent and are opening a grocery store for them...DO NOT buy all your supplies or materials at once; it may mask what you are doing...DO NOT buy your supplies all in one place; you do not want everyone to know everything you have...You do what you want; after all it's your family, but remember that if you make mistakes THEY will pay for them.

If you don't already live in TN or near it, remember getting to a BOL may be a problem during a SHTF situation. Have you considered the Nuclear Plant there??? The 9.25% sales tax on everything? After looking at TN, we settled in Kentucky and so glad we did! 6% sales tax and most food is exempt and reasonable property taxes.

All that is true. Except there is no income personal income tax in TN on earned income. Some places in TN are now at 9.5%.

I have lived in Tn for the past 23 years and love it...
