For trade - 77' 1 ton Dodge Maxivan high top (Colorado)
You might be thinking this is a funny thing to post, but I would consider it a "bug out" vehicle as long as you was not going to far. Reason for the distance limit, MPG is amazingly horrible. However, we have driven it for long round the south trips and made it home fine.
Got this from my father-in-law (paid him well for it.) Used it as a camping RV numerous time before we decided we needed more sleeping and storage room. Took all the "RV" element out of it and installed a RV couch along with insulating it, stall mat on the floor, and wall covering. You can just open it up when empty and spray it out.
What it needs -
Carb adjustment. Brought it here and had to get the emissions done. They were kind enough to adjust the carb, as they were doing the test, to get it to pass. Wouldn't adjust it back to where it ran better. I suck at carb adjustments so I just drove it as they put it.
I've started cutting off the "homemade" hitch receiver. It broke, while pulling my teepee trailer (very long and skinny.) Went to get it welded back up and no one will touch it. Found a manufactured hitch receiver, that should fit, even though the van has a pan instead of a frame.
Nice things to put on it aka things I had planned -
Fuel tank skid plate. The current tank is flat, wide, hangs low, and is plastic. They didn't hook up the gas gauge so while you are there, might as well hook it up.
Lift and meatier tires. I think 33's would look nice with some basic steel wheels. Or even use the stock wheels.
Lower gearing and a HD locker. Isn't a 4x4, but I still try to take it to remote spots. Having that lift and gearing would help take a person deeper into the woods.
Has low mileage.
Value, I would put at about $1500 though I have way more into it. Trading, instead of selling, cause all people see is a 24 year old van and not that it is actually a nice vehicle.
Interested in: guns and ammo, ATV, 6x6 ATV, land (haha), Harley Davidson (Even bigger of a laugh,) military rigs, military shelters (gp small or the like,) nice gen set, good old nasty dirty cash, and what ever you think of. Try me, worse I can say is no.
Only reason for trading off. I replaced it a couple of years ago. Would prefer to start adding to the new vehicle.
Pics to come soon...
