Ya I carry a small digital camera in my cargo pants pocket So many times in my life I have said wish I had a camera now I do .

I also use it to help my memory If I see a vehicle or person in the wrong place I take a picture of license plate etc.

I have a short story for you. A year ago while traveling from my daughters house to mine a came across an accident of a bike being hit by a motorcycle. I stopped, grabbed my first aid kit and ran over. I was the first to respond to the scene.
I found the bike rider in the middle of the road with major compound fractures on legs and arms, and part of his skull pushed in. Just looking at him I could tell he was not long for this world. I covered him with my emergency space blanket and went looking for the motorcycle rider. I found him in the ditch trying to sit up. It took me a few minutes to hold him down, so that he would not re-injure himself any more. It took the police over 10 minutes to respond. After arrival the police office directed traffic and gave no assistance to me at all. I continued moving between both victims for about 20 minutes before some else came up to help. It was of all things an emergency room Doctor and Nurse. I thank the lord for that. The guy on the road passed about 5 minutes later. We got the other guy ready to go to the hospital (60) miles away by calling for life flight. They arrived and took him off our hands. I was told that he later died of a heart attack while undergoing surgery. So my after action report is:

    1. A small first aid kit will not work in an auto accident
. If someone is hurt it will be major injuries. Band aids will not help!!!! I built a back pack into a major trauma kit with a lot more equipment and supplies. I also now carry blankets and 1 gal clean water at all times.

    2. You need to get emergency procedures running as fast as you can. You know stop the bleeding, start the breathing treat for shock. But first look to ensure you know that status of all victims. Don't concentrate on just the first one you see.

    Completely correct.....triage is a bitch.

I carry a fairly complete trauma bag in my vehicle.

    Reading RichFl's post,

Not something I want to roll up on.

I have a little more than the basic kit,
but I need to improve on the kit and the skill.

and add the blow up doll

It depends on the vehicle-my little truck is tiny, and it basically holds me, my BOB, and my daughter, and a few small things. In my big truck I keep:
BOB (it goes where I go, and is loaded with all odds and ends that I think I will need to get home even if I don't have the truck)
    heavy duty jumper cables
    case of water
Ithaca 410 under the backseat, plus ammo
those little glow sticks that you"break" to activate
    hot hands
change of clothes for all of us
    ER blanket
    local map
    solar/wind up flaslight
huge maglite, doubles as a club....
    duct tape
Windex (weird again, but once I ran out of washer fluid, and was behind a dump truck in the rain. It was so muddy I could hardly see)
    zip ties
camera (they do come in handy....I use it for everything...like when I go somewhere and need to take a pic to remind myself what section I parked in....when that lady hit me and I took pics of the scene immediately....that huge buck on my friends property...that weird guy that lives down the road carrying a buzzard under his arm while riding his bicycle..(seriously saw that...no one would have believed me if I didn't have a camera!)
    leather work gloves
    some various tools
OIL (my truck burns a lot)
    5 gallon gas can
bug or fly spray in the summer (you never know!)
First aid kit-mine is pretty tricked out, but I worked for a vet not human Dr., so my human first aid is a little sketchy. I can do basic CPR, wound care...but nothing extensive.
    my favorite knife
    scissors
    tarp
usually some firewood (we have a wood heater at home, and camp a lot, so it always seems like I have firewood stocked in the bed.
baling twine-you can do anything with it!
    chains
wasp spray (sprays like 25 feet, so good weapon against person or dog...and there was that time I opened the truck box and was greeted by wasps.....)

various other things that I can't think of right now. I try to keep it organized. I found an antique metal picnic basket (I know, sounds weird) but it fits perfectly in the backseat, even when it's all the way back, holds a ton of stuff, and is really sturdy. I keep the map, flashlights, jumper cables, lightsticks....basically anything small in there. The rest, except for the firewood, fits in the truck box. I keep my stocked BOB inthe front seat next to me. It looks normal to anyone riding with me, but I know it's fairly overflowing with helpful items!
    This kitten has claws......
