Default Suggestions for Machete under 24"

I've been looking for a Machete under 24". I usually find the generic walmart "deflected by the air its in" machete. I want something that is built to last. Any suggestions?

Well, I have bought and am very happy with the Gerber Parang. The blade is pretty heavy in the end and the curvature provides a ton of cutting power. Holds a good edge even after pretty heavy use and is easy to sharpen back up. The lanyard was replaced right out of the package with some 550 paracord. The original lanyard was crimped together and less than satisfactory. Pretty well balanced over all and the handle provides enough shock absorption that your hand isn't knumb and tingly after an hour ot two of chopping. Thanks for the help! Todd

Look for the old medical corp knives, it is really a heavy ended machete, I have seen them at gunshows for anywhere from $75.oo to $250.00 bucks. They are generally indestructable ,down side is they are heavy.

You are right. I have an Ontario SP-10 and I have really put it through a work out since this photo with no issues at all. I just don't care for the sheath it comes with though so I had a kydex one made.

Spec-Plus are VERY solid no doubt!

I have an Ontario. It's 23" overall.. Has the knuckle buster grip. Nothing special, but it is a little heavier than most machete's. Makes quick work of sapplings and brush.

The 12ga.... It's not just for rabbits anymore.
