Not just 2day but over the last 2wks that we have been moving to our new bug in location. We canned 12 qt jars of Bread&Butter pickles and 12 qt jars of Dill pickles. 24 qts of tomatoes, dried peppers, carrots, onions, oregano, thyme, sage, catnip, mint, and found out we have about 8 black walnut trees and 6 hickory trees on our site around the house. So we have been busy the last 3 wks.

Banner day today! Big Berkey came in, Scored 3 buckets with lids a local wally world bakery, plus 4 without lids. Made 3 bars worth of Fels-Naptha laundry detergent (the dry kind cause storage is so much easier, takes less space and dry does not loose it umpth). Stored yesterdays tooth brushes, toothpaste, mouth wash, and bar soap. Researched natural substitues for ADHD and ADD to keep on hand for SHFT.

Diesel, maybe you can help us out. Is there a spot where you can post good deals you have found? Maybe you can start a thread like you did this one?

I spent this afternoon downloading recipes for the sun oven that will be delivered on Wednesday. Now I just have to sort them, print and put in my recipe binder.
Still haven't decided what I will cook first.

I finally bit the bullet and purchased one of the most expensive parts of my BOB. Katadyn Pocket Microfilter (Endurance Series) $249.00 on e-bay. I have been shopping around and could not find a better price.

I tilled up some of my worn out summer stuff - salad greens, lettuce, potatoes - and bought some seeds for fall - turnips, creasy salad, carrots, more lettuce, and cabbage.

Added another Coleman lantern to the inventory and another two bricks of .22.
