Took a 4 mile hike through the woods to clear the mind

Sometimes a little alone time allows you to think more clearly, and get ready for the days to come

Guess it helps to keep up my fitness as well!

Good topic and when you do something interesting or to prepare let others know... it may motivate folks to get yer stuff in order!

I brought order to chaos, and made sure the chaos was secured. - in other words, I organized and inventoried my supplies. Still need more though...

I slept in till 9:30am
I tried to fix an electrical circut under my home that was carrying less than 120 V.
I hung Christmas lights.
Stuck my new scope and mount on the M1A, attached slings to other rifles.

I posted some reloading information under the "weapons" section on Xcolony.
Went to Church
Went to Big Lots and filled up the pantry again.
5 more boxes of long term storage Bordan Milk.
Loaded 100 rounds of 38 specials.

You know, typical Sunday.

I acquired some electronics gear that may be converted to survival uses e.g. broadcasting low-power transmissions, archiving messages, pest repelling, etc.

I wrapped Pennies for future use in makeshift batteries.

I saw a deal on chocolate bars (staple of soldiers, hunters, and woodsmen everywhere,) so I jumped on it.

I piled up more aluminum cans to be used as a spare revenue stream.

I turned over in my mind some more possibilities for spare revenue, as one never knows when they may be needed in these "interesting economic times."

I continued my seemingly-never-ending struggle against clutter in my apartment. (To me, Survivalism is not just a matter of stockpiling necessities, but also of assuring that you can find your things when you need them and assuring that your things don't get the better of you.)

Last week, I was a guest twice at a gym and did both cardio and fat-burning exercises on their bicycle. I managed to stay in the same zone as a 20-year-old for 10 minutes and the same zone as a 30-year-old for 15 minutes. I've still got some good stamina, but I'll need to persist to have a lean, mean, surviving machine.

I'm still struggling against allergies, but I'm starting to get better. Zicam Swabs for both Colds and Allergies are a welcome addition to any First-Aid Kit, as are Hall's Fruit Breezers pectin-based Losenges.

In other words, Survivalism is just a day-in-the-life for me, but I'll be doing much more as time goes on and as I aquire new means to fulfil my own goals.

Sunday I picked up some more canned meats, added a few more 2- liter bottles to my water storage, added some small items to my first aid supplies. Socked away some more money to purchase a small generator, started exercise program, made arrangements to get my first gun. tried to get hubby to pick me up some containers/barrels for some gas storage, guess I'll do that myself during the week. Looked into barrels for rain water storage.

My plan today after work is to organize my camping supplies, see exactly what i have; perhaps do a better inventory on my food supplies and write up a list of what i want to add. Put together a better BOB, mine is severely lacking, especially now that the weather is cold.If I just do one thing a day, I feel I am ahead of the game- certainly ahead of those who don't do a darn thing to plan for a future, any future.

Well, not today, but just recently I've gotten a good start on my "root cellar". I'm 6 feet down 7 feet long and about 3 feet wide behind my garage. Now all I have to do is start tunneling inward, that's the hard part. I got my empty sand bags in to start putting the removed dirt into to use as reinforcement for the big hole. I've got a long way to go. If any of my nieghbors have seen it they must think I'm fixing to murder my wife or someone else.

Gives them something to talk about I guess.

Cool deal BBC! I have been contemplating adding a root cellar as well. Is this going to be a masonary type or wood one line with Waterproofing materials. That will be another project for me after I get the chicken coop built later this month

Niether, I thought that the ground was hard and stable enough that I would line it with some rubber treated canvas tarps from mil. surplus. If you think that this is a bad idea let me know, I've never done this before. The biggest thing is just getting it dug and then I thought that I would continue to improve it as time and funds permitted.
