    Default Ever loose eye glasses?

Ever since I started wearing glasses, I have always worried about what I would do if I lost them? My distant vision is ok without them, but I can't see my cell phone keypad without them. I solved my "problem" by picking up one of these. My eye doctor gave it to me. Been in my wallet for 12 years I guess. I recommend all you "four eyes" consider getting one for your BOB or at least wallet. Here's a source that popped up when I did a google search. Bet you can get 'em locally?

I'm so dang blind without them, I don't think even a magnifier would do me any good. But, I do keep a second pair of glasses on hand, plus I have about 6 pairs of contacts.

I was actually just thinking of this situation happening today, and was considering to apply through work to get permanent correction surgery done. In the mean time I have several different pairs including a less bulkylooking pair, 2 'work' pairs, and my BCG's, along with my gas mask inserts. I keep my bcg's and the gm inserts in my bob.
In my early military days I've been in a situation where I laid my glasses down to wash up and some one knocked them off and stepped on them. It's quite a pain having to jury-rig a wearable pair that aren't more of a bother than just not wearing none at all.

I saw sheets of the these (similar)@ a Wal-Mart in Orlando for under $1 for a sheet of 2. Back home @ my local one they couldn't be found I wish I had bought a bunch of them

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to
beat you to death with it because it is empty.

The faster you finish the fight, the less shot you will get.

I issue my men at work safety glasses that are prescription. One of the options (although they are not allowed to use them) are straps that fit around their heads and keeps the glasses from falling off. They are not pretty, but are functional and very durable. Less then $100.00 if I recall. You may want to buy a pair and sock them away. I have good vision, so it is not a concern for me like it is for the old and crusty like Lazer.

I wish! I ended up old and squishy...not crusty!

My point was a pocket magnifying lens may let you read a map, pill bottle, etc. when otherwise you may not until you get your glasses replaced. For instance, I have left my glasses in my truck on purpose when I hunt. I don't need them for distant viewing and they hit my scope. I use the credit card size magnifying lens to read my watch, GPS, etc. Works pretty good for me.
