"-Resistant" is a better operative suffix than "-proof."

Nothing humanly created is anything-"proof" and anything humanly created can be undone, re-done, foiled or defeated with sufficient time or effort. Which is, of course, why they sell it as "bullet-resistant" glass instead of "bullet-proof" glass.

But, if it is digital, encrypted, and uses spread-spectrum transmission, it is much more difficult for the would-be evesdropper.

Did you ever get that radio? Looks great but probably expensive!
You might want to look into the digital Motorola XPR 6550 Mototurbo radios. They do analog and digital and work great in the woods. Been using them with friends during Hunting Season. Only down side...they are computer programmed, not field programmable.
