Even with all his "mad skillz", kicking in doors gets to be real hard work, and to make matters worse, he will probably find nothing but starving people behind those doors.

This guy reminds me of a young man who had been in every major conflict beginning with Grenada, then Somalia, Gulf War 1, etc. He claimed to have shrapnel, bullet wounds, trauma and everything else. He was younger than I, and the straw that broke the camels back was the day he told me he'd been at Ft Bragg, watching over the Base because the CO was on leave! He could tell a great story though, I'll give him that. Doing the math, he must have been about 8yrs old when he landed in Grenada.....

If he is willing to do it should SHTF, he is probably doing it now. Stealing that is.

All I know is that a person defending something important is usually quite a bit more prepared for that defense than the other who is merely trying to adapt a plundering.

In other words....try to take food from my kid's mouth, and you'll see that I am the temporary god of your universe....all powerful, all knowing, all seeing, and I will exert my omnipotence to it's fullest extent in your utter suffering and destruction.

I get so excited about building, I cant wait to get started! Gotta cool my heels though. I have a couple people scouting for land even as we speak. I'm supposed to head up in a couple weeks and look at some things they find. Found one 5 acre parcel that is absolutely gorgeous, with road access and the price is rock bottom, but it wont perk!! And I really dont like the thought of a compost toilet. Gotta get some quotes on mound septics or sand filters.. ugh, save $30k on some land and spend $40k to get it up to code....

Charge you? Already told ya, you come help me build and I'll supply the beer and pig!!!

in most cases you will not have to worry with people like your friend,they will be some of the first to die,they believe people will just roll over and give them whatever they demand because they talk a bad game but in times of need most people will stand up to defend their families,If not able to do it alone people will form tribes to defend each other.In families like mine everyone knows how to shoot and will defend our home,My sons or myself would not blink at having to shoot someone breaking into our home.

What concerns me is that this man said that securing an area and essentialy pilaging it was the first thing the military does. He may have been refering to pre-industrail armies but he was wrong if he meant the US Army.
