What is wrong with kids to day?

By the time I was 14 years old I could gut, skin and cut up a deer. I knew where to find game and how to hunt game, legally and otherwise if neccesary. I could cook on an electric stove or a wood campfire. I could wash my own clothes and did most of the yardwork ( my allowance was usually a brick of .22 shells). I knew how to start a fire without matches and a lighter. I carried a pocket knife (even in school) and knew how and why to keep it sharp. I could fix my bicicle and clean my guns and I knew enough about cars to keep an old clunker running without taking it to a mechanic. My Dad would drop me off in the badlands of ND and pick me up in 2 or 3 days. If you did that now you would go to jail for abandonment.
How many teenagers do you know that can do half these things. How many adults do you know that can do these things. Well you might know some and probably can do this and lot more yourself. But think about how many people that have no idea how to do any of these things. Doing this kind of stuff was pretty much normal when I was a kid. It has become uncommon and even strange to the masses, slaves to their modern world. There has been a "wimpification" of our youth going on for quite some time. In my paranoid, conspiracy ridden mind it is a means to an end for the agenda of THEY, whatever that may be.
Pass on your knowledge and skills to the younger generation. Don't ever pass up a chance to show a kid some real fun. Remember they will be running the world someday. When you are old and crippled in your log cabin so many years after TSHTF and that kid shows up with venison, homemade bread and a bottle of moonshine to say thanks for showing me how to gut a deer you will be glad you did.
